Illustration Domain – Tooling Engineer (Mechanical)

Experience: 4–10 Years in Tooling/Mechanical Design Engineering

Description:

  • Responsible for designing, building, and repairing all tooling in-house to support a range of product applications across automotive, electrical, telecom, electronic, and electro-mechanical segments (domestic and international).

  • Ability to understand complex assemblies and components and convert them into prototype-ready tools while meeting cost and schedule constraints.

  • Expertise in sheet metal tool, die, jig, and fixture design in alignment with standard tooling structures.

  • Provide tooling solutions as per production requirements and detailed specifications.

  • Actively participate in New Product Development (NPD) processes.

  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and apply GD&T principles.

  • Conduct simulations and testing to ensure tooling durability and performance.

  • Execute cost-effective and efficient production methods for tools and dies.

  • Review and manage 2D drawings and tooling specifications.

  • Provide support for First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and prototyping.

  • Skilled in handling DFMEA, PFMEA, and other risk evaluation processes.

  • Proficient in Auto CAD, Solid works 2025 & 3D Quick process to suit any customer requirements.
