Role Overview
As a Wiring Harness Design Engineer, you will execute electrical wiring harness design, EWIS builds, and lab operations in compliance with AS-50881 and aerospace standards, while leading manufacturing plans and methodologies. You will apply wire harness manufacturing processes in design, ensure compliance, manage suppliers, procurement, and inventory, implement lean practices, collaborate with stakeholders, troubleshoot issues, and support flight test installations.
Skills Required
Good knowledge of AS-50881 and IPC/WHMA-A-620
Hands-on knowledge of cable/wire preparation, measuring and testing cable assemblies
Experience in crimp terminations, insulation displacement connections, soldered terminations, connectorization, molding/potting, splicing, marking and labeling
Knowledge of wire bundle securing, shielding, protective coverings, coaxial and twinaxial cable assemblies, and packing
Proficiency in wire harness design tools such as CATIA V6 (3DEXPERIENCE), SolidWorks Electrical, or Siemens Capital
Ability to create harness designs, drawings, and propose design solutions
Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and heat treatments
Awareness of AS9100D quality management system
Hands-on experience in fabricating electrical components
Experience with lab compliance activities including tool control, FOD, and ESD
Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
