Electrical Design Engineer
Work Location: Vadodara
Experience: 5–8 years | Qualification: B.E/B.Tech (Master’s preferred)
About the Role:
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with proven experience in refinery, petrochemical, and oil & gas projects. The role involves supporting USA & Canada projects while ensuring compliance with NEC, CSA, NFPA, IEEE standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review single line diagrams (SLD), load list, schematics, cable schedules, DB Schedule, Power, lighting & grounding layouts and Existing MCC/Switchgear /Switchrack modification job.
- Perform equipment sizing and selection for transformers, switchgear, MCC, VFDs, MV, LV Cables & UPS etc.
- Design and review cable routing, lighting and grounding using CAD/3D modeling tools & w.r.t site inputs.
- Prepare technical specifications & datasheets for electrical equipment.
- MTO preparation & review with detail part numbers.
- Prepare Engineering work package.
- Coordinate with vendors, clients and multidisciplinary teams for design reviews and technical clarifications.
- Perform & review system studies including load flow, short circuit, Arc flash, Relay coordination using SKM tool.
- Ensure compliance with GP, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, CSA and local codes applicable to USA/Canada projects.
- Support construction, commissioning, and field engineering activities as required for North America projects.
- Onsite – offshore team coordination.
Ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in all electrical designs.
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, CSA standards.
Hands-on with SKM, AutoCAD (or equivalent).
Experience with hazardous area classification & explosion-proof equipment.
Excellent communication & coordination skills.
Preferred:
Prior experience on North American refinery projects.
Familiarity with EPC work processes (FEED, detailed engineering, construction).
