Overview
We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Android applications using Kotlin and Java. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in modern Android architecture, Jetpack Components, REST API integration, performance optimization, and application security.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
Implement modern Android architectures, including MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Jetpack Components.
Define and enforce Android development best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, QA Engineers, Backend Developers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
Perform code reviews and mentor junior and mid-level developers.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
Optimize application performance, memory consumption, battery usage, and startup time.
Integrate RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, cloud services, and connected devices.
Develop reusable libraries, frameworks, and shared components to improve development efficiency.
Implement robust error handling, analytics, logging, and monitoring solutions.
Ensure application security, data privacy, and compliance with Android platform guidelines.
Support CI/CD pipelines, testing, release management, and deployment activities.
Work effectively in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Required Skills
5–7 years of experience in Android application development.
Strong expertise in Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, and the Android Application Lifecycle.
Experience building and maintaining production-grade Android applications.
Strong understanding of Android platform limitations, performance tuning, memory management, battery optimization, and application startup optimization.
Hands-on experience with MVVM Architecture, Clean Architecture, SOLID Principles, Repository Pattern, Modularization, and Scalable Application Design.
Proficiency in Jetpack Components, including ViewModel, Navigation Component, Room Database, WorkManager, DataStore, and LiveData.
Strong experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, StateFlow, SharedFlow, Structured Concurrency, and Reactive Programming.
Hands-on experience with Hilt and Dagger for dependency injection.
Experience integrating REST APIs using Retrofit, OkHttp, JSON Parsing, API Authentication, and Token Management.
Strong expertise in Jetpack Compose, XML-based UI Development, Material Design Principles, Android UI/UX Best Practices, and Responsive & Adaptive Layouts.
Experience with Unit Testing, JUnit, Mockito/MockK, Espresso UI Testing, and Code Quality & Static Analysis Tools.
Proficiency with Gradle, Android Studio, Git, CI/CD Pipelines, Play Store Release Management, and Agile Development Methodologies.
Experience with Android development best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
Strong knowledge of code reviews, production issue troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventive solutions.
Experience developing reusable libraries, frameworks, and shared components.
Experience integrating third-party SDKs, cloud services, and connected devices.
Strong understanding of application security, data privacy, error handling, analytics, logging, monitoring, and compliance with Android platform guidelines.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with IoT, Smart Home, or Connected Device ecosystems.
Experience integrating Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices and communication protocols.
Experience with Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and Push Notifications.
Knowledge of Real-time Device State Synchronization and Event-driven Architectures.
Understanding of Offline-first Architecture and Local Caching Strategies.
