So which one should you actually choose?
If you want hands-on physical work and don’t mind the multi-year licensing timeline, AME is the right track, you likely already know this if you chose the AME route originally. If you’re set on design work and can commit to further study or a longer entry runway, Design Engineering is worth pursuing, ideally alongside an M.Tech.
